Now, I always get asked, “Stefan, how can I get ahead in life?”

The best way to get ahead is, you know, you want to quit your job. No, I’m kidding, don’t quit your job.

What you want to do is work to learn, not to earn. This is one of the biggest keys to life.

If you have a job and you’ve learned everything that there is at that job, it’s time to quit. It’s time to get the next job that will give you the skills you need to progress to the next level on your life’s journey.

You need to go into a job where you are getting paid to learn something that you need to learn about.

I remember I went into sales at a private equity company, because I needed to learn how to raise money. In about 10 months, I learned how to raise money and it was time to quit.

That’s how it is with just about anybody who’s really smart and wants to get ahead in the world.

You go take a job, learn what you need to learn, and then quit. It’s how you get a paid education.

You can go spend money on courses, you can spend money on mentorships, you can spend money at the university, or you can just get a proper job in the industry that you need to work to learn, not to earn.

Now sometimes they won’t hire you, so you might just have to work for free. Working or free, you know, what employer’s going to say “no” to somebody working for free?

Work to learn, not to earn.
