Why are you looking to be a real estate entrepreneur? Are you looking for Freedom or Security? Which value is more important to you.

Now, I get questions all the time about freedom vs security. I have this deck of value cards. It’s about fifty something little cards with different values on them, and you pick your top 10 values.

Some people pick freedom as one of them. Some people pick security as one of them.

Now, what’s very interesting to me is when people say, “I want both freedom and security,” and the truth is, there’s no such thing as freedom and security.

There’s a continuum here, and the one side is freedom and on the other side is security.

Maximum freedom is you living in the forest by yourself, and maximum security is you living in maximum security prison.

The question is, where are you on that continuum, because you can’t have both. The closer you move to freedom, the further you move away from security, and the closer you move to security, the further away you are from freedom.

You can have one or the the other. If you are in the middle of the road, sooner or later you are going to get run over.

Now, I’m a freedom guy, which means, I have to say goodbye to security. Whereas if you’re a security person, you got to say goodbye to freedom.

My mother, I love her dearly, she’s a security person. She shouldn’t be investing in crazy things.

She should be investing in safe things, and have a safe government job, which she has, and a safe retirement, and that’s good for her.

I’m not saying that choosing security is wrong. That’s what a security minded person needs.

Now she was married to my father, who was a freedom type person, who likes to just take risks.

Actually, he’s a limo driver now. He doesn’t own very much, but he owns a sail boat, and he likes to go flying and doesn’t have much money.

Well, he’s a freedom guy. The freedom guy and the security girl don’t go well together. I’m sorry, but you’ve got to figure this out in your life.

Are you a freedom person over here?

Are you a security person over there?

No matter what the answer is, you’re right. It’s okay.

At the end of the day, you need to understand where you stand, what you want more of, because that’s going to make you happy at the end of the day.

Getting what you want is happiness, and not getting what you want is the path to unhappiness.

Freedom vs Security. What is best for you? Only you can answer that question and decide which is best for you.

Respect The Grind,
