I get asked sometimes, what’s the difference between book smart and street smart.

I’m a guy … I’m a very street guy. I grew up selling lemonade on the street. Hustling little t-shirts to my friends at school.

Everything that I’ve done, I have a good street education, especially being in the music industry. It’s bars. It’s handshakes. It’s honor. It’s cash. That’s the street.

Now, on the other end of the spectrum is book smart.

There’s book smart people … Now, I like to date girls who are book smart. They’re nice. They don’t have very much teeth and claws. They’re not scary people.

They’re not going to swipe at you and hit you and stuff. But there’s a street smart and then there’s a book smart. They’re two totally different things.

There’s a lot of people out there that know a lot about … maybe they’ve read a lot of books … taken a lot of courses.

Maybe they have a PhD, which stands for poor, helpless, and desperate.

On the other end of the spectrum is people who are street smart who respect the the grind and they’re out there grinding every day.

There are two totally different skill sets.

If you want to be in business, you probably got to get street smart pretty fast because business guys is one of the the most competitive places.

It’s one of the most cut-throat places. I hate to say it’s cut-throat, but people typically do whatever suits them.

They do whatever’s good for their advantage and they don’t care about you.

I’m sorry for all the Care Bears out there, but it is truly something where you got to be very careful in business, because it is the street, and people do whatever they can to take advantage of you.

It’s all about human nature. I love human nature because here’s a riddle for you.

Human beings want to take advantage of each other, but they don’t want to be taken advantage of. This comes from the street smart world of street smarts.

In the book smarts world, they’ll say, well, people should, in theory, love each other.

It’s true. We should in theory love each other but we’ve got the street smarts over here that knows human nature and knows exactly how it is.

If you like what you see here,  pick up a copy of my book, Self Made, because actually this tip I gave you today, is from the book Self Made.

If you get the book and don’t love it, give it to a friend who you love, and I’ll give you your money back, that’s my guarantee to you.

You will benefit from giving away my book.

Respect The Grind,

Stefan Aarnio
